The opportunity to perform in a concert is an exciting, empowering and confidence-building part of the training process. This is often the first time many of our preschoolers have ever set foot on a stage in front of anyone. It is where we love to watch our students learn about performance, rehearsals and teamwork while they enjoy the opportunity to showcase their skills and for family and friends to join in the pride of their achievement.
This is without a doubt the highlight of our year and we are giddy with excitement to show you how hard our dancers have been working!
Thank you for taking the time to read all information contained on this site. It should cover any questions you have, if not, please feel free to reach out to our team. Hope you are all looking forward to the concert as much as we are!
Miss Janine
LOCATION
Our End of Year Concert will be held at:
CALVARY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE - Carbrook. 559 Beenleigh - Redland Bay Rd, Carbrook
DATE & TIME
Our End of Year Preschool Concert will be held on Saturday 29th November 2025 10:00AM
See the Concert Day Procedures below for arrival times.
All students participate in our End of Year Concert and students work on these routines each week in class, developing their skills in the process and learning the importance of rehearsal, commitment, performance techniques and teamwork.
In terms of attendance, it is very important that students do not miss any of their scheduled classes between now and concert time so they can spend their rehearsal time together to perform their routines, feel confident and look amazing. Of course, this is only if it can’t be helped and in line with studio guidelines. If for any reason your child will miss a number of their regular classes in Term 4, we ask that you contact reception to let us know in advance.
If there is any reason why your child will not be able to perform at the concert on the dates and times provided, please let us know so we can make amendments to the class routines involving them.
Your performer fee has already been committed to and has either been paid upfront or debited weekly. Students who have not paid all their concert fee will be unable to perform in the concert.

CONCERT TSHIRT
All students receive a concert commemorative t-shirt included as part of their performers fee. Your pre-selected size is currently on order and will be handed out to students once production is completed. This shirt is to be worn on arrival on Show Day and for the studio group photo taken prior to Show 1.
CONCERT MEMORABILIA
VIDEOS
We engage the services of a Professional Videographer. This year Paramount Productions will be videoing our concerts. All parents will receive a digital download of their dancers show included as a part of your concert performers fee. All parents will be emailed with a unique log in which will enable you to view and download the concert videos at home.
If you have recently changed emails, please drop us an email at [email protected] to ensure we have an up to date email address for you and you don’t miss out.
Concert videos will be emailed out early January and will be available for 4 weeks only to download.
ON STAGE PHOTOS
We engage the services of a Photographer who will be taking on stage photos of the preschool shows. Please be aware that they are “live on stage” images and there is no way to guarantee that photos will be taken of each individual child. Digital images will be provided to you as part of your Performer fee and a link for download will be provided to you at a later date after the students awesome performance.
For both Photo Day and Concert Day the information below is here for Makeup and Hair requirements. All items can be purchased from our onsite dance store Danza Sorella or often at your local chemist etc. We try to keep our preschool requirements as simple as possible so please give it a go.
HAIR:
You MUST have hair ties the same as, or as close as possible coloured to your child’s hair.
For our Preschoolers this year we are doing space buns. This is a middle part down the entire head then two high pigtails which are then plaited and twisted into buns. Please no donut bun tools are to be used unless absolutely needed as this changes the shape of the bun.
Please see below tutorial video if unsure.
BOYS: Clean, tidy hair out of their face.

At Stepright we use a little makeup for our young dancers on stage to help their faces shine under the bright lights. It makes their smiles and expressions easier for the audience to see and enjoy. Think of it as part of their costume, just like their dance outfit - it helps them look like the little stars they are!

MAKE-UP:
Make-up is a light base foundation, blush, brown/gold eyeshadow. Red lip for girls and brown/nude for boys.
Please see tutorial video below if unsure.

Photo Day is one of the first times that students (along with Parents) get to see costumes from other classes/routines.
When is it?
As mentioned in your Concert Commitment form that you signed back in September, we had assigned both Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th for our photo days. Please note all Preschool photos are scheduled for Sunday afternoon
Where is it?
Photo Day is held at our studio - 4/17 Cairns St Loganholme
We do our best to break the days up so that students (and parents) are on site for the least amount of time possible. Check the PHOTO DAY page button below for arrival times and photo day order.
Photography
In previous years we unfortunately encountered extreme time delays with our photographer and as such we will be doing our photography in-house. Proofs are set to be available to view and purchase on Concert Day at CALVARY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE - Carbrook. 559 Beenleigh - Redland Bay Rd, Carbrook. This will reduce time delays and ensure smooth delivery of your precious memories.
What photo does my child have to be in?
Students will be required to be in all of their group photos with the rest of the class and will have the opportunity to have a single photo in each costume.
What about sibling / friend photos?
To ensure that we run to schedule, all sibling / friend photos MUST be requested in advance. Please complete the Sibling/Friend Photo Form available on the PHOTO DAY INFO page .
What to arrive in?
Students are to arrive with hair and makeup done according to their first routine pic. ALL jewellery must be removed. If you are unable to take out a piercing due to infection or it being new, it must be covered with a nude coloured band aid or tape.
ALL nail polish must also be removed, including toes.
Do Parents/Guardians stick around during photo time?
YES. Your student will need you to help get them changed and ready for the next photo .
How do I know which costume is for which dance?
Your dancers will have a rough idea of what costume is for which routine. However in every costume bag sent home there will be a print out of the routine name, costume, accessories and shoes required.
TIGHTS:
Dance stockings MUST be worn. Largely for modesty but also to add a cohesive look to our routines. These are available in our dance shop located at our studio. All classes are to wear CONVERTIBLE MATTE skin toned tights. This means they have a foot hole in the bottom of the stockings so they can be folded to be worn for bare feet.
All shoes must be clean and presentable. Please wipe over Ballet shoes and and Tap shoes. Little Stars students require Ballet pink ballet shoes and Tan tap shoes.
No shoes will be worn for Little Stars Jazz, Lil Acro, Lil Jazz, or Lil Cheer,
Black canvas type shoes (preferably tied up rather than slip on) to be worn for Lil Hip hop and Lil Ninjas.
Please see above for all hair and makeup requirements
What should I bring other than costumes?
Please bring appropriate snacks and water for the duration. NO STICKY DRINKS OR SNACKS are to be near or consumed in costumes.
Can we take pics of costumes?
Yes however parents and siblings are not permitted in the Photoshoot area.
And photos are not permitted in the dressing room where students will be getting changed.
I don’t have my students costume yet. What is happening there?
This year we have asked on BAND if you could provide a NAMED Costume Bag (or purchase a Stepright Bag with your concert commitment) with Hangers for each routine. This will help us be able to send costumes home all together. All of the costumes are currently being delivered to the studio and collated. Most costumes will be ready to wear as is however some may require a minor adjustment.
Costumes will be billed in the coming days less any deposits already collected so your prompt attention to invoices is appreciated. After that time costumes will begin to be sent home. I am very happy that we have been able to source so many wonderful and affordable costumes within Australia given the current international postal constraints. Once handed out they are your responsibility.
Replacement of lost items are not be possible due to ordering constraints so please be careful with all items.
What is the go with the concert shirts being handed out?
These are our performance shirts and the students love them and wear them many many times in the future. We do ask that students keep these shirts tidy until concert day as our annual whole studio photo will be taken in this shirt on Concert Morning so this shirt MUST be WORN ON ARRIVAL on CONCERT DAY Saturday 29th November 2025.
Please be reminded that there are a lot of students photographed on photo day and scheduling has been carefully done to ensure the least disruption to your day and to reduce the number of students on site at any one time. Please ensure all students are present and ready at their required time so that the day runs smoothly. Students not present when called may unfortunately miss out. This is a fun experience and will enhance their excitement for Performance day.

There is no extra rehearsal for stage rehearsal for our preschoolers. All of our preschool classes will have their stage rehearsal in class. Many classes already are practicing in front of other classes and/or on our mini stage at the studio.
DROP OFF & PICK UP
On concert day, all of the students will be staying backstage with us for the duration of the concert. Students need to have their hair and makeup done and stockings on before being dropped off. Students are required to arrive 45mins before their show time. Please only drop students off with their costumes in the bag that we sent them home in and a bottle of water with their name on it. No jumpers or street shoes will be needed (they only get forgotten). Snacks (if needed) will be provided. Do not send any snacks.
During the dropping off times, we ask that one parent/guardian comes with their child into the drop off area (which will be via the side door opposite the car park). Students will need to know what allocated group they are in. See the CONCERT GROUPS & ORDER button below.
All students will need to be picked up from the drop off point after the show. Students will stay in this location and need to have their name marked off by their group leader.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask us. We will ensure that we talk you through the concert day procedure again in the weeks leading up to the concert.
SECURITY & STUDENT SAFETY
To help with student organisation and safety, all students will be put into an allocated 'group’. Please see the "show specific info" on this site and make sure your child knows what group they are in.
As always, the safety of our dance family is our #1 priority. On concert day all students will need to be signed in / out of security lists to gain access backstage. All backstage helpers will be issued with security passes that are required to be worn at all times. Only Stepright Studios staff and registered parent helpers are permitted backstage. We are unable to run messages to students, so please make sure they have everything before they come backstage for the recital/concert. There will be a someone at the door for the entire day checking passes. We do this to protect the students, please respect this policy. Please try not to bring anything valuable. Our studio will take no responsibility if an item is damaged, misplaced, lost or stolen.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS
If your child has any Medical Conditions that may require attention whilst in our care or are carrying any medication with them, please notify our supervisors when you sign in.
