The opportunity to perform in a concert is an exciting, empowering and confidence-building part of the training process. This is where we love to watch our students learn about performance, rehearsals and teamwork while they enjoy the opportunity to showcase their skills in a professionally run production. Concerts are a wonderful way for students to showcase the results of their hard work and for family and friends to join in the pride of their achievement. We love giving all students the chance to perform for their family and friends in this supportive and fun environment and encourage even our youngest and newest performers to be involved.
Please note: that unfortunately any families with unpaid fees will not be allowed to participate in our concert.
This is without a doubt the highlight of our year and we are giddy with excitement to show you how hard our dancers have been working!
Thank you for taking the time to read all information contained on this site. It should cover any questions you have, if not, please feel free to reach out to one of our team. Hope you are all looking forward to the concert as much as we are!
Miss Janine
LOCATION
Our End of Year Concert will be held at:
Sheldon Events Centre - Sheldon. 43-77 Taylor Rd. Sheldon
DATE & TIME
Our End of Year Concerts for All Students will be held on Saturday 6th December 2025
There will be 2 shows : 10AM and 6PM
See the Concert Day Procedures below for arrival times.
All students participate in our End of Year Concert and students work on these routines each week in class, developing their skills in the process and learning the importance of rehearsal, commitment, performance techniques and teamwork.
All Students (excluding our Preschool students who only perform in SHOW 1) will perform in BOTH SHOW 2 & SHOW 3. This enables our nominated parent helpers to be able to help in one show and watch the other show. We are so appreciative of our parent helpers as this helps keep costs down as well as parents get a lot out of being back stage, seeing the work that goes into producing a high end show and helping out.
In terms of attendance, it is very important that students do not miss any of their scheduled classes between now and concert time so they can spend their rehearsal time together to perform their routines, feel confident and look amazing. Of course, this is only if it can’t be helped and in line with studio guidelines. If for any reason your child will miss a number of their regular classes in Term 4, we ask that you contact reception to let us know in advance.
If there is any reason why your child will not be able to perform at the concert on the dates and times provided, please let us know so we can make amendments to the class routines involving them.
Your performer fee has already been committed to and has either been paid upfront or debited weekly. Students who have not paid all their concert fee will be unable to perform in the concert.

CONCERT TSHIRT
All students receive a concert commemorative T-shirt included as part of their performers fee. Your pre-selected size is currently on order and will be handed out to students once production is completed. This shirt is to be worn for the studio group photo taken prior to Show 2 and for their finale in both Show 2 & Show 3. Preschool Students will also wear their T-shirt for their finale
CONCERT MEMORABILIA
VIDEOS
We engage the services of a Professional Videographer. This year Paramount Productions will be videoing our concerts. All parents will receive a digital download of their dancers show included as a part of your concert performers fee. All parents will be emailed with a unique log in which will enable you to view and download the concert videos at home.
If you have recently changed emails, please drop us an email at [email protected] to ensure we have an up to date email address for you and you don’t miss out.
Concert videos will be emailed out during January and will be available for 4 weeks only to download.
ON STAGE PHOTOS
We engage the services of a Photographer who will be taking on stage photos of either show 2 or 3 (yet to be decided). Please be aware that they are “live on stage” images and there is no way to guarantee that photos will be taken of each individual child. Digital images will be provided to you as part of your Performer fee and a link for download will be provided to you at a later date after the students awesome performance.
For both Photo Day and Concert Day the information below is here for Makeup and Hair requirements. All items can be purchased from our onsite dance store Danza Sorella or your local chemist etc. We try to keep our hair and makeup requirements as simple as possible so please give it a go. If you are uncertain at all please ask your class teacher or our Admin staff.
HAIR:
You MUST have hair ties the same as, or as close as possible coloured to your child’s hair. And if in ballet, the same goes for a bun net. These are all available in our dance shop, Danza Sorella, located at our studio if you are struggling to find any. Hair for all routines excluding ballet this year is a slick back, middle part, straightened low ponytail.
BALLET (TEST 1 & up) : For a ballet bun, start with hair in centre part, slick back low ponytail as used for all other genres. Then twist hair into a bun and secure with bobby pins and hair net the same colour as hair. Please no donut bun tools are to be used unless absolutely needed as this changes the shape of the bun.
BOYS: Clean, tidy hair out of their face.

Stage makeup is important because the bright lights can wash out your facial features. By wearing makeup, your expressions will stand out, making it easier for the audience to see and connect with your performance. It's not about changing your appearance; it's about helping you shine on stage!
For both Photo Day and Concert Day the information below is here for Makeup and Hair requirements. All items can be purchased from our onsite dance store Danza Sorella or your local chemist etc. We try to keep our makeup requirements as simple as possible so please give it a go.
MAKE-UP: Make-up is a light base foundation (generally a shade darker than your skin colour), blush, brown/gold eyeshadow and a little bit of mascara for all students. Red lip for girls and brown/nude for boys. Students Preteen and above are welcome to wear false eyelashes if they choose.

Photo Day is one of the first times that students (along with Parents) get to see costumes from other classes/routines.
When is it?
As mentioned in your Concert Commitment form that you signed back in September, we had assigned both for Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th November 2025 our photo day. As a guide Intermediates, PreTeens, SubSeniors, & Seniors and Junior Lyrical are on Saturday afternoon/evening, PreJuniors and Juniors (excluding Junior Lyrical) are on Sunday mid morning with Preschooler being after lunch on Sunday. Please double check the photo day order using the button below as there may be some exceptions to this rule.
Where is it?
Photo Day this year is being held at our studio. Please note that we will do our best to break the days up so that students (and parents) are on site for the least amount of time possible. Click on the Photo Day button below for arrival times and order.
Photography
Proofs are planned to be available to view and purchase on Concert Day at Sheldon Events Centre - Sheldon. 43-77 Taylor Rd. Sheldon. This will reduce time delays and ensure smooth delivery of your precious memories.
What photo does my child have to be in?
Students will be required to be in all of their group photos with the rest of the class and will have the opportunity to have a single photo in each costume.
What about sibling / friend photos?
To ensure that we run to schedule, all sibling / friend photos MUST be requested in advance. A form will be available soon to register your sibling/friend photos
What to arrive in
Students are to arrive with Hair and makeup done according to their first routine pic. Makeup will not change but hair may need to be changed from ponytail to bun (only applies to ballet students). ALL jewellery must be removed. If you are unable to take out a piercing due to infection or it being new, it must be covered with a nude coloured band aid or tape. ALL nail polish must also be removed - this includes toes if in any Acro, Lyrical, Contemporary or Performance Team classes.
Do Parents/Guardians stick around during photo time?
YES. Your student will need you to help get them changed and ready for the next photo .
How do I know which costume is for which dance?
Hopefully as your children have tried them on in class they should know, but we will be releasing a detailed list of all costumes and routines with shoes, headpieces etc. all included.
TIGHTS:
Dance stockings MUST be worn. These are available in our dance shop located at our studio. All classes are to wear MATTE skin toned tights. All Acro, Lyrical, Contemporary and Under 10’s & 12’s Performance team classes are required to have convertible or footless tights as they need to be barefoot. Ballet classes will not need separate coloured tights this year.
SHOES:
All shoes must be clean and presentable. Ballet shoes excluding pointe are not to have ribbons unless told specifically otherwise. All Jazz classes up to PreTeen are required to have tan jazz shoes. Teen Jazz and above are black jazz shoes. Pre-junior Hip Hop and Junior Hip Hop are to wear low top plain black canvas shoes. Intermediate, PreTeen, Teen and Senior Hip Hop are wearing low plain white shoes of choice as previously discussed with students.
HAIR & MAKEUP:
Please see above for all hair and makeup requirements
What should I bring other than costumes?
Please bring appropriate snacks and water for the duration. NO STICKY DRINKS OR SNACKS are to be near costumes.
Can we take pics of costumes?
Yes but you are not allowed in the professional zone (Studio 2) . Lets create a buzz around our show this year. Make sure you tag us in any of your social media posts (Instagram @stepright_studios, facebook @steprightstudios)
PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW STUDENTS to take these costumes to Show'n'tell etc until AFTER ALL CONCERT Performances.
I don’t have my students costume yet. What is happening there?
This year we have asked on BAND if you could provide a NAMED Costume Bag (or purchase a Stepright Bag with your concert commitment) with Hangers for each routine. This will help us be able to send costumes home all together. All of the costumes are currently being delivered to the studio and collated. Most costumes will be ready to wear as is however some may require a minor adjustment. If this is the case you will be notified. If in doubt your best bet is to have a multitude of safety pins on hand. Costumes will be billed in the coming days less any deposits already collected so your prompt attention to invoices is appreciated. After that time costumes will begin to be sent home. I am very happy that we have been able to source so many wonderful and affordable costumes within Australia given the current international postal constraints. Once handed out they are your responsibility. Replacement of lost items are not be possible due to ordering constraints so please be careful with all items.
What is the go with the concert shirts being handed out?
These are our performance shirts and the students love them and wear them many many times in the future. We do ask that students keep these shirts tidy until concert day as our annual whole studio photo will be taken in this shirt on Concert Morning so this shirt MUST be WORN ON ARRIVAL on CONCERT DAY Saturday 6th December 2025
Please be reminded that there are a lot of students photographed on photo day and scheduling has been carefully done to ensure the least disruption to your day and to reduce the number of students on site at any one time. Please ensure all students are present and ready at their required time so that the day runs smoothly. Students not present when called will unfortunately miss out. This is a fun experience and will enhance their excitement for Performance day.
What about whole studio photo?
We are doing things a little different this year due to having separate concerts for the preschoolers however as mentioned above, this Photo will be done on Concert Morning before Show 2 so that we don’t have to keep anyone around longer than needed on Photo day.
Let's make it a fun day for all :)

When: Saturday 22nd November 2025
Time: 1:00PM
Where: Sheldon Events Centre - Sheldon. 43-77 Taylor Rd. Sheldon

DROP OFF & PICK UP
On concert day, all of the students will be staying backstage with us for the duration of the concert. Students need to have their hair and makeup done and stockings on before being dropped off. Students are required to arrive 60mins before their show time.
During the dropping off times, we ask that one parent/guardian comes with their child into the drop off area (TBA). Students will need to know what allocated group they are in. See the CONCERT GROUPS & ORDER button below.
All students will need to be picked up from the drop off point after each show. Students will stay in this location and need to have their name marked off by their group leader. Students and Parents can use the time between Show 2 & 3 to have some food, relax & recharge ready to return 45min prior to Show 3
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask us. We will ensure that we talk you through the concert day procedure again in the weeks leading up to the concert.

All backstage helpers will be issued with security passes that are required to be worn at all times. Only Stepright Studios staff and registered parent helpers are permitted backstage. We are unable to run messages or food to students, so please make sure they have everything before they come backstage for the recital/concert. There will be a someone at the door for the entire day checking passes. We do this to protect the students, please respect this policy. Please try not to bring anything valuable. Devices are permitted in backstage waiting areas however devices are not to be taken in the changing areas during the concert and students are to respect each other's privacy .
